Old Salem Museums & Gardens is proud to present our Wood-Fired Oven & Moravian Sugar Cake Tasting! Join Old Salem’s Domestic Skills team for an exclusive demonstration of historical baking with a wood-fired oven and get hands-on to learn the technique of making traditional Moravian sugar cake.

You’ve tasted sugar cake before, but not like this! So come see how it’s really done and experience true Moravian taste, just in time to be the resident expert on sugar cake, right before the holiday seasons begin.

Tickets include a demonstration of historical wood-fired oven baking, a hands-on experience on the traditional techniques of Moravian sugar cake making, and a traditional sugar cake recipe so you can make Moravian sugar cake at home! This workshop is suited for ages 16 and up. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a ticketed adult! Check-in for this program will be at the Single Brothers' Workshop, 10 W. Academy StreetPlease arrive 15 minutes prior to allow time for check-in!
