Calling all fans of bees!

This year, World Honey Bee Day falls on August 16th, and we would love to guide you through gardens full of flowers and teach you about the history of the honey bee.

Using a walking tour format, we are going to explore the wild origins of the honey bee and learn how they traveled to the New World, as well as delving into how the Moravians of Salem were keeping bees in the 1800s! We will encounter many kinds of bees, both wild and locally tended species, and you will have the opportunity to examine the differences in size and body shape between them.

Come learn about the world of bees right here in Old Salem's gardens!

Space is limited. Ages 10+ (participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by ticketed adult).
