Get messy, make mistakes! Experiment with a traditional natural dye recipe using onion skins and mordants to create a variety of golden hues. This is a beginner level class for adults (or children with adult supervision) who are interested in learning how to use natural ingredients to make a textile dye. 

Here are some things to assist your preparation for the workshop if you would like to follow along with the activity at home: (links are only suggested sources): 

  • 1 large skein (100g) of washed undyed wool yarn 

  • rubber/silicone gloves 

  • apron or old clothes 

  • plastic disposable tablecloth 

  • 1-2 cups of onion skins
