Sounds of Salem: In Honor of Peter Oliver

Join Old Salem Museums & Gardens for the first concert in our America 250 Summer Concert Series—a four-part celebration of music and history.

Each program begins with an optional 20-minute pre-talk designed to enrich your listening experience, offering insight into the music you’re about to hear, its historical significance, and its connections to the Moravian musical tradition. The pre-talk is followed by a 45-minute concert.

In collaboration with the Moravian Music Foundation, Creative Corridors, Moravian Archives, and the Wachovia Historical Society, featuring Chris Ogburn, Tim Olsen, and Jonathan Williams performing on the same Tannenberg Organ that Peter Oliver pumped the bellows for more than 200 years ago.

This opening concert highlights the extraordinary legacy of our 226-year-old Tannenberg Organ, showcasing the power and beauty of this historic instrument.

We hope you’ll join us for a memorable afternoon celebrating the enduring impact of music as part of America 250 at Old Salem Museums & Gardens.
