Sounds of Salem: Moravian Chamber Music 

The second of our concerts, each program begins with a short pre-talk designed to enrich your listening experience, offering insight into the music you’re about to hear, its historical significance, and its connections to the Moravian musical tradition. The talk is followed by a 45-minute concert.

Moravian chamber music played a vital role in shaping the early sound of American classical music. This concert brings that legacy to life with selections from the Moravian Music Foundation archives, featuring flutist Kinard Douthit (WSSU) and a special performance by Jonathan Williams (Home Moravian Church) on the historic Tannenberg Organ.
