The Salem in Winston-Salem
Making the City of Arts & Innovation
A captivating presentation by Martha B. Hartley, Director of Moravian Research at Old Salem Museums & Gardens.
Winston-Salem is a vibrant city of a quarter million people in Forsyth County. Called the "City of Arts & Innovation," it gets its credentials from the Moravian Church which began building the community over 270 years ago. The history derives from generations of people and families who gave their best — people born and descended from Europe and Africa. This lecture explores the unique history of Winston-Salem as it evolved from the Wachovia Tract, established by the Moravians in 1753.
We hope you’ll join us on Wednesday, September 10th, from 6:30–7:30 p.m. in the Wachovia Room at the Visitor Center.
This is a complimentary event for Old Salem Museums & Gardens supporters, though pre-registration is required as space is limited.
You will receive a confirmation email once you have registered for the event, but no ticket is required at the door.
