Calling all plant and nature lovers!
Join Old Salem Horticulture Educators in exploring and documenting plant species in our beautiful gardens!
Moravian children learned botany and the natural history of plants using a mix of classroom education and experiential time spent in the vast natural setting surrounding Salem.
Inspired by notable Moravian botanists Emma Lehman, Lewis David von Schweinitz, and Anna Rosina Gambold, our educators will teach you some techniques you can use to document both garden and wild plants.
Each participant will receive a hardback blank sketchbook, cedar pencil and basic materials and instructions for assembling a plant press! No prior art skills required!
Come learn about the world of botany right here in Old Salem's gardens!
