African American Foodways: Hearth Cooking Workshop
Old Salem Museums & Gardens is proud to present African American Foodways & the Hearth! This program will be an evening of exclusive and in-depth exploration cooking demonstrations and workshops themed around the contribution of Africans and African Americans to Southern hearth cooking. Guests will be active participants in the food preparation! Visitors with sensitivities to smoke will want to be aware that live fires will be present. This program is recommended for adults 18 years or older.
Tickets include a demonstration of hearth-cooking tools and techniques, a lecture, and a yummy meal for all attendees! Check-in for this program will be at the Single Brothers' Workshop, 10 W. Academy Street. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to allow time for check-in!
